AUTOMATIC VENTILATION IN MOTION

The O-Two CAREvent® ATV + and MRI are pneumatically powered, time / volume in cycle, intermittent positive, pressure ventilators under pressure specifically designed for use by trained personnel in the pre-hospital, hospital, inter-hospital and air ambulance environments . They do not need to be connected to a power source to operate. The various ways of using ventilators to support resuscitation and transport for a wide range of patients (from babies to adults).

The O-Two CAREvent® ATV + and MRI feature have independent controls for minute volume and frequency that provides a comprehensive range of 12 ventilation frequencies and 12 minute volume adjustments. This provides possible 144 combinations of tidal volume and respiratory rate. O-Two, has ergonomically designed and colored control groupings facilitate selection and adjustment of respiratory parameters while protecting controls. The color groupings in the controls add to this concept of ease of use. The O-Two has a micropneumatic circuit design that maintains a consistent I: E ratio (set at 1: 2) and uses virtually no gas driving.

The Intermittent Ventilation Emitted Synchronized Mode (SIMV), the breathing feature allows patients with spontaneous breathing to breathe oxygen at their own rate and volume. If the required rate is sufficient, the automatic circuit shutdown feature will cause the automatic ventilator cycle to cease when the patient takes a spontaneous breath. The automatic cycle will restart automatically if the patient stops breathing or demands volume or a drop in respiratory rate below the predetermined minimum.

Compliance with the latest guidelines for resuscitation is provided on the O-Two CAREvent® ATV + and MRI by incorporating a manual override button. This allows the provision of chest ventilations and compressions during CPR in the patient with an unprotected airway in accordance with these guidelines. The manual flow is equivalent to the flow of the selected minute volume setting. For the intubated patient, simply set the frequency control to 10 breaths per minute.

Visual and audible pneumatic alarms exclusive for disconnected circuits (respiratory system integrity), low supply pressure, low airway pressure and high airway pressure alarm to improve the patient's safety level. These alarms alert the operator to any problems with the patient's breathing parameters. A replacement control is provided for the BSI Alarm to silence the alarm for 15 seconds.

Adjustable continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) / positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP). The mode allows these two functions to be provided by the ventilator, eliminating the need for an external PEEP valve or CPAP device. Improve fan operating time during transport or when 100% oxygen is not required, an air mixing mode with replaceable environmental filter is provided, allowing for an oxygen concentration of 100 or 60%.

The O-Two CAREvent® ATV + and MRI are compatible with aerial ambulance, having passed the tests of fixed and rotary wing aircraft for the US Army Standard 810E. The O-Two CAREvent® MRI contains ferrous metals and is suitable for use in three Tesla MRI environments.
