Data Acquisition and Analysis

The DEFI XPRESS is no longer automatically configured for a particular frequency response. There are two diagnostic frequency options: 0.05-150 Hz

Diagnostic frequency filter and filtered diagnosis from 0.05 to 40 Hz

Frequency filter. See chapters 7 on how to switch between these two options.

Defibrillator

Waveform details:

The tables below provide details of the waveforms provided by the DEFI XPRESS when connected to resistive loads of 25 50 and 100 Ohms and set to their maximum output. The waveforms are characterised by DEFI XPRESS values for peak current (Ip) for two-phase: duration of the first output phase (tphase1) and duration of the second output phase (tphase2). The values shown are within 10%.

Waveform: truncated exponential biphase

Output power accuracy:

+/- 10% or 1J (whichever is greater) at 50 ohms

+/- 15% or 1J (whichever is greater) between 25 and 100 ohms

<12 seconds @ 360 J (with a 12 volt Ni-MH battery - MEDITECH after 15 discharges).

Alarms

Heart rate alarm Spo2:

Audible: 5 pulses of 800 tones with a PW of 150 msec per PRI of 225 msec and a repetition interval of 10 seconds.

Visual: The heart rate alarm causes the displayed heart rate to flash at 2 Hz. This display is located at the top of the display and is 0.4 "high and 0.28 to 0.840" wide, depending on the number of digits in the heart rate. Black is amber or whatever colour the display text is.

Battery failure alarm:

Audible: triplet tone of 3 pulses of 500 Hz with a PW of 200 msec per PRI of 310 msec. When the HR alarm is set or the defibrillator is at the lead failure tone, it repeats at a 20 second repetition interval.

Visual: Lead Fault condition causes a "LEAD FAULT" message to be displayed on the trace along with a dashed line across the width of the trace. The text is 0.18" high and is the colour of the display text. The dashed line is 5" Long display width. Signal is not modulated.

Physiological Alarms (Spo2):

Audible: View the heart rate alarm

Visual: Physiological alarms cause the displayed parameter to flash at 2 Hz. The colour is amber or equal to the coloured display text.

Duration mute: 90 seconds.

Printer:

Type: high resolution thermal matrix.

Annotation: Lead ECG time date ECG gain cardiac defibrillation and ACLS events summary of treatment.
