• The structure of the carrier material allows free release of exudate to the secondary dressing covering it.

• covering with a paraffin layer means it does not adhere to the wound, allowing painless dressing change

• Paraffin neutral properties allow dressing to be used in combination with other preparations containing medicinal or antiseptic substances

• can be shaped and cut aseptically

• requires coverage with a bandage with absorbent properties, eg a pad, a high absorbent bandage, polyurethane foam
